DataMaestro allows you to define and execute the movement of data within your IBM Planning Analytics environment without requiring the use of TurboIntegrator. Instead, you create Tasks and Packages and execute them on demand or on a scheduled basis.
Tasks
Tasks are where you define a discrete data movement activity. For example, you may want to pre-populate your Q1 Forecast with the data from your final budget. You might do this for one cube or across multiple (even all) cubes.
You can copy, move, multiply, add or zero out data in a Task.
You define the source and the target of your data movement, and then execute the Task. You can also save tasks for future use.
Packages
Packages are collections of Tasks and/or TurboIntegrator processes (collectively called "Activities") defined in a particular order. Packages allow you to run multiple Activities all in one simple step. Packages can be run on demand or scheduled to run at a specified time – say once a month after the monthly close.
History
History contains the results of running Tasks and Packages. DataMaestro records every activity you run so you can access and audit your activity history. You also get validation, messaging and email notifications related to your activities.
